Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American stage and screen actress best famous for her role in film as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the popular television series The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an actor, writer and actress, who is active in the fields of theater, film, and television. She began her career as an actor in theater but then proceeded to play in a variety of television programs, as well as independent and mainstream films. Her biggest success came as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she received critical acclaim and numerous nominations and accolades, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. The stage credits she has received include the Broadway productions of Joe's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film career began in the late 1990s. her most notable work is her performances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Also, she is well-known for her character on the crime drama series on ABC, High Incident.
