
Stevland Morris (ne Judkins, May 13 1950) popularly referred to as Stevie Wonder is an American singer-songwriter from the United States. It is said that he is credited with being a pioneer in a variety of genres, including rhythm and blues and soul and gospel, jazz, soul, gospel and funk. Wonder was a solo artist that used synthesizers for the creation of electronic music in the 1970s. The result was a revolution in the R&B genre. Wonder was also instrumental in the development of genres such as R&B during the album era. The albums he released were consistent and cohesive and also socially conscious statements that featured complex compositions. Wonder, who was blind since his birth was signed to Motown's Tamla label when he was 11. He was then given the professional name Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's popularity on the charts was at its highest in the 1970s. His "classic period" which began in 1972, saw the release of Music of My Mind. Talking Book featured "Superstition" as one of the most famous and distinctive sounds recorded by the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. He won the Grammy Award as Album of the year for Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness' First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life ( 1976). This is the record holder of the most Album of the year awards with three. Wonder is the only artist who has won the award three times in succession with consecutive albums. Wonder was considered a "commercial artist" when he began to make his biggest hits in the 1980s. His popularity increased with increased albums sales, charity involvement and high-profile collaborations.
