AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She also serves as the captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the US women's national soccer team with Megan Rapinoe. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and one of the youngest players on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She ended 2012 with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she took home the Silver Boot.
